Our History
In 1959, William Balfrey and Norman Johnston, associates of the Olsonite Company, stepped away to form Balfrey & Johnston Incorporated. In a much different world from today, one without email, cell phones, fax or copying machines, these two gentleman created the legacy of our company.
Unfortunately Bill Balfrey passed away in 1963 and “Storming Norman” took over full control of the company until 1982, when the business was purchased by Norm’s son George. Current partners include George’s sons, George II and Scott; and Daniel McClary.
2024 brought expansion into new territory with the creation of Balfrey & Johnston Wisconsin. We acquired a 20,000 square foot warehouse in Pewaukee to meet the needs of Wisconsin distributors and contractors.
